Well I got something to say, it's my last hours in Chicago today...
Ah, The Windy City. I feel like we hardly got to know each other. As my last gift to your fine city, I donated to WBEZ today. Maybe my favorite public radio in all the land?
Some of their local programing, aside from the always amazing This American Life (heard of this one?) has made it easier for me to get rid of a TV and sit around and listen for hours on end, as the awful weather outside made it so I spent an entire winter getting smarter (yeh right) and cooking for myself almost every night.
What a winter!
Also did I ever mention Chicago beats most other cities in ma and pa restaurant's?
Yes, it's true, but I fear that next time I visit it might be a different story. This city is slowly losing some of the old independent blue collar feel in the areas I'm used to.
Whatever the case, the other morning, El Charo right off the California Blue Line stop (Milwaukee and Fullerton I want to say?) I had maybe the best chillaquillas (sp?) I have ever had.
It's places like El Charo, Orange Palace, and other like it that will make me miss the Windy City, but as it is, I have to say buh bye. Thanks for everything. Chicago, Ill call ya later.
Etc. Etc.
