riiiight....

G.W. has "predicted" a Mideast peace deal by the end of his term.
I am of course posting this, so a year from now if it doesn't happen, I can remember it as a document of the many promises that didn't come through.
Sorry, I have heard this sort of stuff before. After reading Jimmy Carters Palestine: Peace not Apartheid, I am more cynical than ever in terms of American politicians and their "interest" in the middle east. If and when peace comes to the region, how many presidents and politicians will raise their hands and claim that they are the one(s) that push the region into peace?
Like Carter, Bush will one day use this period to overshadow how worthless his time spent in office was.
No bets please, but smart money should NOT go on the man who has caused some of the greatest unrest in the land to calm it down.
